MINNEAPOLIS — New York leaders returned to the 100th National Convention stage for a second time Wednesday to present $66,435 to National Commander Denise Rohan for the National Emergency Fund (NEF).

MINNEAPOLIS — Department of New York leaders were center stage with National Commander Denise Rohan Tuesday, presenting checks for the Legacy Scholarship Fund that helps children of fallen service members and post-9/11 disabled veterans.

National Convention Parade Moves Indoors Due to Thunderstorm Threat
Department Commander Gary Schacher leads New York’s contingent in the National American Legion Centennial Convention Parade in Minneapolis.
MINNEAPOLIS — The American Legion Centennial Convention Parade, featuring marching units from across the country, moved indoors to the massive Minneapolis Convention Center, thanks to a forecast of late afternoon thunderstorms on Sunday.

The American Legion Band of the Tonawandas (Post 264) is The American Legion’s concert band champion.
The band took first place in the national concert band competition at the American Legion Centennial Convention in Minneapolis, MN.

Greg “Doc” Gibbs, New York’s 2011 Detachment commander, is the new national commander of the Sons of the American Legion for 2018-19.
He was installed Sunday during The American Legion’s Centennial Convention in Minneapolis, MN, and the Sons 67th Convention.
