    UTICA — Rockland County OTB Post 130 of Stony Point successfully defended its 2016 title Saturday, becoming the 2917 New York State American Legion Baseball Champions.

  • Gand Island Shines to Grab 3rd Win; Rockland Earns 4th

    UTICA — Grand Island Post 1346 shined Friday in the fourth day of the New York State American Legion Baseball Championship Tournament, overwhelming Binghamton Post 80, 13 to 1, and garnering its third tournament win.

    Grand Island set the paee from the start, scoring 5 runs in the first inning, then another 2 in the 2nd. Grand Island then capped off the game by scoring 3 runs in each of the 7th and  8th innings.

    In the day’s second game, Rockland OTB Post 130 earned its fourth tournament win, downing Sherrill Post 230, 11 to 9.

    Sherrill and Binghamton Get 2nd Wins; Rockland, 3rd Win

    UTICA — Sherrill Post 230 garnered its second win Thursday in the New York State American Legion Baseball Championship Tournament, dominating Adrean Post 625, 11 to 1. It was day three of the tournament at Murnane Field’s Donovan Stadium.

    In the second game, Binghamton Post 80 also scored a second win, edging Clinton County Mariners, 6 to 5.

    In game three, Rockland OTB Post 130 scored its third win of the tournament, beating Grand Island Post 1346, 12 to 10.

  • Binghamton Comes Back to Get First Win; Adrean Gets Win; Grand Island and Rockland Score 2nd Wins

    UTICA — Binghamton Post 80 came back to score its first win on the second day of the New York State American Legion Baseball Championship Tournament Wednesday, shutting out the Schenectady Indians, 2-0.

    In the second game, host Andrean Post 625 toughed it out to beat Brooks Shepard, 12 to 10.

    In the third game, Grand Island 1346 grabbed a second tournament win, downing Sherrill Post 230, 10 to 3.

    In the final game of the day, RocklandOTB Post 130 crushed the Clinton County Mariners, 12-1, to take a second tournament win.
