    24 Chaplains to Be Added to Chaplains Hill Monument

    White Plains, NY Feb. 3, 2017 — The names of 24 Protestant Chaplains who died in service including two who remain Missing In Action from the Korean War are planned to be recognized this spring at Chaplains Hill in Section 2 at Arlington National Cemetery on a revised plaque.

    The announcement came on the 74th anniversary of the “Four Chaplains” who gave up their lives for others during World War II on the torpedoed troopship Dorchester.

    Richmond County’s Lou Gerriero Passes

    It is with deep sadness and a great sense of personal loss that I inform you of the passing of Lou Guerriero.

    Lou was a World War II veteran who served our great country in its time of greatest peril. He served the American Legion on the Post, County, District, Department and National  levels culminating in  his election as Department Vice Commander for the Department of New York. Lou was an integral part of Richmond County where he served as its leader for many years.
