Mid-Winter Conference Agenda Features Seminars, Banquet, Yankee Doodle Band
The updated agenda for the Mid-Winter Conference is now available.
The conference takes place the weekend of Jan. 24-26 at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center, 660 Albany Shaker Road, Albany.
It features seminars and meetings providing information and updates on a host of Legion topics.
A reception featuring The American Legion Yankee Doodle Band will precede Saturday’s banquet.

American Legion Salutes Deployed Service Men and Women This Holiday Season
The American Legion Department of New York joins Santa Claus in saluting our service men and women who are deployed away from home this holiday season.
Recognizing that “Freedom is not free,” Legionnaires support and pray for our troops and their families.
“Thank you for your service and for your sacrifice.”

5th District Raises Funds for Airport Military Courtesy Room

5th District Commander Lawrence Behling presents funds to an unidentified military lounge volunteer at Hancock International Airport, along with Jefferson County 3rd Vice Commander Judy Wallace (left), 5th District Auxiliary President Diane Butler (2nd from right), and Department Commander’s Aide Leslie Crossett (right).
Thanks to the Department of New York’ 5th District, the Gregory J. Harris Military Courtesy Room got a $3,000 boost to serve military men and women traveling through Syracuse’s Hancock International Airport.

Thank You for Your Selfless Service

A Veterans Day MessageMedal of Honor recipient David Bellavia rescued an infantry squad that was pinned down by machine gun fire. Staff Sgt. Bellavia’s actions during a pre-dawn mission on Nov. 10, 2004, made him the Iraq War’s first living recipient of the military’s highest award for valor.
Putting himself in harm’s way to save other soldiers is what sets him apart. But while his valor is exceptional, his mindset is common within the women and men who serve our great nation.

Baseball Tournament Moving to Saugerties in 2020

Cantine Field in Saugerties will host the New York State American Legion Baseball Senior Tournament.
