A small diverse group of American Legion family members from the Seventh District joined together on Wednesday evening, September 10, to contact members living in Wayne County who do not belong to a local post and personally invite them to transfer into one.

Include Toll Receipts with Travel Voucher
Department of New York Adjutant Jim Casey announced today that legionnaires and Sons of the American Legion (SAL) members who submit authorized travel vouchers for reimbursement must include receipts. That includes toll receipts as well as airline, train, bus, receipts. See TRAVEL VOUCHER MEMO.

2 NY Donations for Operation Comfort Warriors
The American Legion’s Operation Comfort Warriors, which provides comfort supplies and equipment to wounded warriors, received a boost from the Department of New York Aug. 28 when Department leaders presented another check to outgoing National Commander Daniel Dellinger.

New National Commander: Stay True to Ideals
CHARLOTTE, NC — Department of Nebraska Legionnaire Mike Helm was elected American Legion national commander Aug. 28 during the final day of the 96th Annual American Legion National Convention.
He said that he wants Legionnaires to stay true to the ideals of the organization’s founders and use them as a guide toward future progress.
