Richmond County’s Lou Gerriero Passes
It is with deep sadness and a great sense of personal loss that I inform you of the passing of Lou Guerriero.
Lou was a World War II veteran who served our great country in its time of greatest peril. He served the American Legion on the Post, County, District, Department and National levels culminating in his election as Department Vice Commander for the Department of New York. Lou was an integral part of Richmond County where he served as its leader for many years.

ALBANY — The Department of New York’s 98th Annual Mid-Winter Conference featured a weekend of seminars and meetings on significant issues of concern to veterans and their families – and also put a spotlight on two women in line to make American Legion history as the first national and New York State female commanders.

Legion, SAL Bring $6,000 Worth of Comfort Items to VA Vets
Members of the Legion and Sons of the American Legion (SAL) went shopping with Operation Comfort Warrior (OCW) Program Director Bruce Drake before Christmas to purchase $6,000 worth of comfort and recreational items for veterans at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center.
