    Still Time to Apply for Legion Family College; Deadline Extended to May 1

    There is still time to apply to attend American Legion College of New York (which will be held June 2-4 at Morrisville State College). The deadline has been extended to May 1, College Dean Tim Collmer announced.

    The college is a three-day immersion into the Legion’s programs and structure, and issues facing the largest veterans’ organization in the country.

    Now called Legion Family College, it is for members of the Legion, the Auxiliary, the Sons of the American Legion, and American Legion Riders.

    Legion College fosters leadership skills of Legion Family members as they work in teams to solve problems they may face in their home post, unit, squadron or chapter. The curriculum covers an array of topics, such as leadership and communication; Americanism, children and youth; MyLegion.org; legislation; constitution and bylaws; duties of local officers; media relations; membership.
