Some Slots Open for Legion College

With a few spots still open in this year’s class, the Department of New York American Legion College is extending its application deadline to June 1, College Dean Michael Hannan announced.

The college is open to members of the American Legion and Sons of the American Legion.

“Dean Hannon and Assistant Dean Collmer have been working all year to insure that our Legion College program remains the standard that other departments strive to achieve,” noted Department Adjutant James W. Casey. “The instructors are all DNY Legion College graduates and many have gone on to National College in Indianapolis. In past years the classes have been open to our neighboring departments so they can study our program and return to start a program of their own. As a graduate of the college I not only gained a wealth of knowledge about the American Legion but also met a great bunch of people in my fellow students and I remain in contact with most of them.”
