Rockland Pirates show their excitement at winning the state baseball title.

The players of District 9 Champ Rockland County Pirates Post 130 are the New York American Legion Baseball Champions. This is the third consecutive year Rockland claimed the state title.

They held onto their undefeated tournament feat, downing District 7 Champ Rayson-Miller Post 899 of Pittsford, 10 to 2, Wednesday.

Rayson-Miller scored in the first inning, but Rockland quickly followed with two runs in the bottom of the first, and then another 8 runs in the 4th inning. Rayson-Miller wasn’t able to keep up, despite scoring another run in the sixth inning.

New York State American Legion Commander Gary Schacher was on hand to award the championship and runner-up trophies along with Baseball Chairman Bruce Mayfield.
