Riders to meet-and-greet, raise Legacy funds June 26 in Wellsville

The second Annual New York State Legacy Meet and Greet for the 7th and 8th Districts takes place noon to 4 p.m. June 26 at Morrison Hayes Post 702, 35 Jefferson St., Wellsville, NY.

“At this ride-to-event there will be a luncheon, meet-and-greet with Department Director Dave Davis, door prizes, a program of information, Chapters sharing what they did last year, and opportunity for Chapters to present donations if they wish,” reported Jerry Ketchum, vice director for Department of New York American Legion Riders (ALR).

It’s also a good place for Chapters to establish solidarity and communication, he said. The menu for the luncheon will be Chicken BBQ, salad, beans, brownie and water. (Other beverages will be available for purchase.) Price will be $20 per person.

“Please send me an estimate on how many from your Chapter are coming so we can order food,” Ketchum said. “Remember, this is a fundraiser for The American Legion Legacy Fund to be given at the Legion National Convention on behalf of the New York State American Legion Riders. Last Year the 7th & 8th District ALR gave $4,600. Let’s beat that this year.”

If chapters want to send donations, make check out to American Legion Legacy Fund and send to Jerry Ketchum, PO Box 65, Honeoye, NY 14471. He also may be contacted at ketchumsons@frontiernet.net.
