Post Traumatic Stress Treatment Topic at Convention
ALBANY — The New York State American Legion, convening for its 96th Annual Convention at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Colonie July 17-19, will make an announcement about the treatment of military veterans with post traumatic stress or mild traumatic brain injury.
Department of New York Commander Kenneth Governor and Physician Henry Prince, MD, will hold a press briefing at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, at the Desmond. They will discuss the failure of the heavy-medication approach in the VA health care system and the growing evidence of an approach that could restore veterans’ lives and counteract the veteran suicide epidemic.
The convention is bringing well over a thousand members of the New York’s American Legion Family to the Albany area, who will be discussing a number of issues affecting veterans. The American Legion Family includes members of the Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion.
