Photog Doug Malin Gets High Honor
Retiring Department Photographer Doug Malin was given a special honor at July’s state convention in Binghamton.
Delegates voted to bestow on him the honorary title of Past Department Commander, recognizing his 16 years of traveling around the state with 16 different department commanders, Auxiliary presidents and SAL Detachment commanders.
He also spent a year as the official photographer for Past National Commander Fang Wong. Altogether he has taken 70,000 photographs for The American Legion.
A former Marine and retired New York City police detective, Malin is a member of Leonard H. Hawkins Post 156 in the Bronx.
