    NY Boosts Legion Charities at National Convention

    American Legion charities got a $85,000 boost during the 98th National Convention this week in Cincinnati, thanks to the New York State American Legion Family.

    Department of New York delegation leaders – including Immediate Past Department Commander James Yermas, Department Commander John Sampson and Department Adjutant James Casey – were presenting checks totaling $85,120.

    The checks were earmarked as follows:

    $57,161 for Operation Comfort Warriors.

    $16,801 for the Legacy Scholarship Fund.

    $11,158 for the National Emergency Fund.
