Convention’s online housing process now closed
Dear Legion Family,
The online housing process for the 2015 Buffalo Department of New York Conventions is now closed.
The Hyatt Hotel is sold out. We have blocked a few rooms at the Adam’s Mark Hotel for any late reservations. The only way to reserve a room at this point with convention block pricing, 7/15 to 7/18, is to call Karen Cox of the Visit Buffalo Niagara Office at (716) 218 – 2925.

2 Bowl Perfect 300, One Did It Twice
Two bowlers spurred some excitement in the recent New York State American Legion Bowling Tournament, bowling 300 perfect games. One did it twice.

Griffiths Shines at Dept. Bowling Tournament
NORWICH — Dan Griffiths of Milford Post 174 grabbed first place in both the Singles and Combo events in the Department of New York Bowling Tournament, scoring 787 and 1521 respectively. Oxford Post 376 Team #1 took first place in the Team Event with a score of 3646. The team of Bohn & Cola from Greenlawn Post 1244 grabbed top honors in the Doubles Event with a score of 1470, edging out Thomas & Brown from LeRoy Post 576 who took second with 1469.
The 66th annual American Legion Bowling Tournament was hosted by the Warren E. Eaton Post 189 at Family Recreation Lanes in Norwich, NY during April and May.

Al Carpenter Enters ‘Post Everlasting’
ALBANY — Alton H. Carpenter, past department commander and a consultant to the Department Legislative Committee, died May 2 at the age of 87. He was buried May 8 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. read more »
