Legionnaires to Converge on Albany for Hill Day in March
Members of The American Legion from across the state will converge on Albany on Tuesday, March 3, for the Legislative Hill Day, to be briefed on veterans legislative issues and to meet with their state legislators from the Assembly and Senate.
Sponsored by The American Legion Department of New York, Hill Day consists of several key events:
1. A Legislative Committee meeting at 7 p.m. March 2, on the eve of Hill Day, at the Albany Hilton, where veterans legislative issues will be reviewed and discussed.
2. Legislative Breakfast with state legislators, from 8 to 10 a.m., March 3, in Ballrooms C, D & E at the Albany Hilton Hotel (formerly the Crowne Plaza), on the corner of State and Lodge Streets (across the street from Department Headquarters).
3. Following breakfast, there will be a Veterans Legislative Rally.
4. In the afternoon Legion Family members are encouraged to visit the offices of their state legislators to talk up veterans’ concerns.
