    ‘Legion New York’ Mag Debuts at Conference

    The Department of New York debuted a new publication, Legion New York, at the Mid-Winter Conference held Jan. 24-26 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany.

    Legion New York coverPart of the Department’s efforts to raise the level of communications and marketing, Legion New York  boasts an array of stories from interesting happenings on the Post level to actions by Department leadership.

    Designed as a news magazine, the inaugural issue features such topics as:

    — a tribute to Adjutant Emeritus and Past National Commander Richard Pedro.
    — the Department launches a new web presence.
    — a Legionnaire testifies on veteran suicide epidemic.
    — Department leaders visit troops, experience training at Fort Drum.
    — Leaders take pro-active stance on GI death benefits and retiree cost-of-living cut.
    — Tops in Americanism trophy.
    — National commander salutes 100-year-old NY member.
    — IRS revises its position on DD-214.
    — Legion rider partakes in wreaths tribute.
