    Junior Shooting Awards

    Junior shooters from Middletown Post 151 and Vernice Suttle Post 113 in Baldwinsville shined in two different championship matches. Junior Shooting Chair Lawrence Behling gave the following results in his convention report.

    Middletown Post 151 won first place team honors in the state Legion League championship that took place Feb. 16 at Cicero Post 787. Team members were Serigo Napoletano, Tyler Jetjomlong, Angel Reves and Derk Savino, with a score of 2142-60.

    Middletown also grabbed first place in the state Team Sporter Air Rifle National Match, with a score of 2167-63.

    Middletown’s Serigo Napoletano took first in the state Individual Sporter Air Rifle National Match, with a score of 544-19.

    Vernice Suttle Post 113 claimed first place in the Team Precision National Match, with a score of 1755-18. Team members were Kevin Kanzler, Patrick Kanzler, Tim Boyce and Troy Rrogers.

    Vernice Suttle’s Patrick Kanzler took first place in the Individual Precision National Match, with a score of 481-6.

    A Vernice Suttle Post team grabbed first place in the BB Gun Championship held in Binghamton May 3. Team members were Emily McIntyre, Gabrielle Boyce, Ethan Harley and Kevin Kanzler, who had a team score of 1608-12.

    District champions in the team and individual Sporter Air Rifle National Matches are as follows:

    — 5th District: Arthur S. Moran Post 66 of Camden, with team score of 1837-27, and Moran Post’s Lydia Durant, with an individual score of 484-7. (Team members were Lydia Durant, Luke Dixon, Wyatt Stagner and Kyler Dixon.)

    — 7th District: Webster Post 942, with a team score of 1759-24, and Webster’s Andre Gross with an individual score of 549-16. (Team members were Andre Gross, Jeremiah Smith, Grant Higgins and Zachary Wollke.)

    — 10th District: William Floyd NJROTC unit with Arthur H. Clune Post 1533 of Mastic Beach, with a team score of 1579-18, and Clune Post’s Scott Amato, with an individual score of 421-5. (Team members were Scott Amato, Taylor Hausser, Corey Penny and Rashelle Batres.)

    — 8th District: Orchard Park Post 567, with a team score of 1362-2, and Orchard Park’s Jonathan Seymour, with an individual score of 377-0. (Team members were Jonathan Seymour, Calvin Clark, Timothy Winterhalter and Matidia Musial.)

    — 9th District: Manny Bacon Post 1758 of Hopewell Junction, with a team score of 843-5, and Manny Bacon’s Shannon Clark, with an individual score of 407-5. (Team members were Shannon Clark, Ariel Suter and Andrew Shultis.)
