    ‘Hiring Our Heroes’ Job Fair in Farmingdale Aug. 14

    The American Legion and other organizations will conduct a “Hiring Our Heroes” Job Fair in Farmingdale, NY, on Aug. 14.

    An employment workshop will run from 8:30 to 10 a.m., followed by the hiring fair – from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 8:30 a.m. workshop focuses on resume writing, tips for successfully navigating hiring fairs, military skill translation, and interviewing.

    The event takes place at the Farmingdale Armed Forces Reserve Center, 25 Baiting Place Road, Farmingdale. In addition to The American Legion, sponsors include U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, New York National Guard, NYS Department of Labor, Suffolk County Veteran’s Service Agency, the NY Committee for the NY Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR), the U. S. Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and Goodwill Industries International.
