  Happy 99th Birthday!

  

  The American Legion celebrates its 99th birthday on March 15.

  It is the day in 1919 when the first American Legion caucus, held by members of the American Expeditionary Force, convened in Paris.

  Preparations for the celebration of The American Legion’s 100th anniversary are underway.

  The Department of New York holds its 100th Department Convention in Rochester July 19-21, 2018.

  The 100th National Convention in Minneapolis (home of the first national convention in 1919) on Aug. 24-30, 2018, kicks off a 15-month commemoration to honor the Legion’s first century of service. Centennial events and activities will culminate on Veterans Day 2019.
