  Games Resume in Force After Rainout

  UTICA — After losing a day to rain, the New York State American Legion Championship series resumed Friday, Aug. 1, with New Hartford Post and Saratoga Stampede remaining undefeated with two wins each.

  New Hartford edged Clinton County Mariners, 2-1.

  Smith Post beat Lloyd Post, 3-2, in completion of a game suspended by rain Thursday night, and then lost to Saratoga in a 5-0 game.

  Endicott Post scored two wins Friday, first 6-3 over Clinton County and then 2-0 over Lloyd Post; and the Corning Grays trounced Jurek Post, 8-2.
