Eagle Scouts Focus on Veterans’ Projects
MAHOPAC — Three of the four new Eagle Scouts at Troop 371 in Mahopac completed community service projects related to military veterans, “TAP into Mahopac” reported.
Eagle Scout Robert Bensburg enhanced and repaired the Military Memorial Area adjacent to Mahopac American Legion Post 1080, and also installed a custom memorial stone with bronze plaque honoring founders of the post and veterans of World War I.
Eagle Scout Michael Lavin focused on rehabilitating the Veterans Memorial on East Lake Boulevard.
Eagle Scout Nicholas Granata established a sitting and meditation area across from the 9/11 Memorial and next to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial plaque in front of the town hall.
The fourth Eagle Scout, Matthew Filardi, repaired a storage and utility building next to Michael Geary Memorial Rink on Route 6.
