Constitutional Speech Contest Is Feb. 28
The 78th Annual Department of New York Oratorical Scholarship Program is sponsoring “A Constitutional Speech Contest” to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Sand Creek Middle School, Sand Creek Road, Colonie, NY.
Five contestants from a cross section of New York State will be competing against one another. The first place winner receives a scholarship of $6,000 and the opportunity to represent New York State at the National Oratorical Contest to be held in Indianapolis, IN during the month of April.
The American Legion Department of New York encourages Legionnaires, parents, and friends to attend.
Notes Oratorical Chair Anthony L. Paternostro: “This is a worthwhile, rewarding experience to listen to these five students speaking on the Constitution of the United States.”
