Rockland Garners 2nd Win; Clinton, McKeever, Maine-Endwell Grab 1st Wins

UTICA — Clinton County Mariners of Plattsburgh, who lost to Adrean Post 625 yesterday, came back to defeat another first-round winner, Brooks Shepard Post of Fairport, 13-11, in the first game of the second day of the New York State American Legion Baseball Championship Tournament.
Then, Rockland County OTB Pirates Post 130 of Stony Point garnered a second win, crushing another first-day winner, Amsterdam Post 791, 11-0.
After that, McKeever Post 64 of Buffalo took its first win, 8-5, against Whitestown Post 1113 and giving the latter its second loss.
In the night game, Maine-Edwell Post 1700 of Endicott grabbed its first win, trouncing host Adrean Post 625, 10-3.
The tournament continues through Saturday, July 30, at Murnane Field’s Donovan Stadium here.
