    Bainbridge Post Leads Golf Tourney

MARATHON — A team from Bainbridge Post 806, captained by Richard Rusakiewicz, golfed its way to first place in the Department of New York’s Golf Tournament, held Aug. 1 at Maple Hill Golf Club in Marathon, NY.

The 2nd place team was from Syracuse Post 1650, captained by Dominic Fortuno, and 3rd place team was from Whitney Point Post 974, captained by Tim Spoonhower, reported Chairman Auseklis Krumins.  Longest drive was by Dave Hauber from the Bainbridge team.

The annual 18-hole, captain-&-crew event is a fun day for legionnaires, Krumins said.

“It was an enjoyable day with perfect weather, and the fourteen teams all had a great time.  After golf, each participant enjoyed a steak and hot buffet along with liquid refreshment.”
