BUFFALO — New York’s Greg “Doc” Gibbs, national commander of the Sons of the American Legion, will be honored at a weekend homecoming Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, at the Buffalo Grand Hotel.

NY Members Visit Memorials During Washington Conference

A contingent from the Department of New York, led by Department Commander Gary Schacher, took time to pay respects to fallen servicemen and women in a visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial and the National Seabee Memorial (especially since the commander served with the Seabees in Iraq).
The New York Legionnaires and Sons of the American Legion members were in Washington, D.C. for The American Legion Washington Conference, Feb. 24-27.

101st Department Convention Takes Place in Buffalo in July (info on Program Book ads)
The 101st Annual Department Convention takes place in Buffalo, July 18-20, 2019, during The American Legion Centennial year.
At the same time, Buffalo hosts the 99th Annual Auxiliary Convention and the 45th Annual Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Convention.
Information about the Convention Program Book ads is now available on the Department Convention webpage, along with a copy of the Booster Sheet.
Details to come on housing, agenda, parade, etc.

New American Legion Baseball Rule Book Available
The 2019 American Legion Baseball Rule Book is now available in digital format, Department Baseball Chairman Bruce Mayfield announced.

Hard copies should be available sometime in March.
