  American Legion Day

  Sept. 16 is American Legion Day.

  The U.S. Congress in 2009 passed resolutions proclaiming Sept. 16 as American Legion Day every year.

  In New York, the State Assembly earlier this year adopted a legislative resolution citing the Legion for its work for veterans, families, children, community, state and nation — and calling on Governor Andrew Cuomo to proclaim Sept. 16 as American Legion Day in New York State in conjunction with National American Legion Day.
