    3rd District Sweeps Zone Oratorical Contest

    LAKE GEORGE — The 3rd & 4th  Districts of the New York State American Legion held their Zone Oratorical competition Feb. 6 at Lake George Jr. & Sr. High School. Two contestants from each district vied for the chance to represent the Zone at the Department of New York Oratorical competition on March 5 at Sand Creek Middle School in Albany.

    Third District swept the competition as first and second place winners both hailed from Columbia County representing the same school, Taconic Hills High School.

    First place winner Joseph Giulian received a $800 Scholarship Award and second place winner Jacob Gellert received a $600 Scholarship.
