  Girls State Ambassador Gets Standing Ovation at Boys State

  Girls State Ambassador Heather Greenwood got a standing  ovation at the Boys State general assembly July 1 when she was welcomed to the stage and introduced by State Sen. Joe Griffo of Rome.

  Greenwood is from Hamilton, NY, and is a student at Cazenovia College.

  To the delight of the crowd, both Griffo and Greenwood donned Boys States t-shirts.

  Griffo spoke of his role as a legislator, discussed issues that may be of concern to the public, and took a number of questions from the students. After leaving the stage he was surrounded by students wanting to talk to him.
