  Legion Announces Top Scouting Awards at State Convention

  BUFFALO — Pointing to The American Legion’s long and unwavering support for the Boy Scouts of American, Department Scouting Chair Stephen Mataraza reported that “we currently charter 223 units”, with “well over 6,100 youth in the Department of New York.”

  Mataraza also announced at the 101st Annual Convention the following top Scouting awards.

  Pack of the Year is Pack 10 chartered to   Post 800 in Groton, NY, Tompkins County, 6^th District.

  Troop of the Year is Troop 43 chartered to Mohican Post 983 in Greene County in the 3^rd District..

  Adult Scouter of the Year is Charles D. “Chuck” Pettibone from Monroe County, 7^th District.

  Eagle Scout of the Year is Steven King from Troop 42, Chartered by Post 291, Greene County 3^rd District.
