  42nd Infantry Band Performs Across New York State

  The U.S. Army’s 42nd Infantry Division Band is playing free concerts across New York State in August.

  “The band plays some GREAT music and their finale is an Armed Forces medley,” notes American Legion Department of New York Commander Gary Schacher. “If you can make it, please check them out, and bring some membership applications with you.”

  The schedule:

  Aug. 4 in Syracuse (11 a.m., Long Branch Park).
  Aug. 5 in Canandaigua (1 p.m., Maxion Stage).
  Aug. 7 in Stony Brook (7 p.m., Long Island State Veterans Home).
  Aug. 8 in Lido Beach (11 a.m., Camp ANCHOR).
  Aug. 9 in Staten Island 7 p.m., Fr. Wadsworth).
  Aug. 10 in Manhattan (1 p.m., United Nations).
  Aug. 11 in Sayville (11:30 a.m., Sayville Summer Fest).
