Albany County Sponsors Event for Women Vets
On the 31st of May, Albany County Veterans Service Bureau is hosting an event that is aimed at engaging, inspiring, & motivating female veterans, to pursue professional development and personal growth.
It is open to women Veterans, active duty, guard, reserve, and supportive organizations.
“You will be able to learn about organizations in the area and their programming,” noted Bureau Director Scott Leslie.
“We’re prepared to host up to 200 female Veterans at the Celtic Hall in Colonie, NY. Please register using this link if you’d like to attend. Register here!”
“We’ll have light snacks and coffee available in the morning, yoga, lunch, and a dedicated time for neighboring counties to discuss their best practices with the PFC Dwyer program.

Department of NY Golf Tournament Is Aug. 1

The Department of New York’s Annual American Legion Family Golf Tournament takes place on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, Chairman Auseklis Krumins announced
The 18-hole, Captain & Crew event gets under way at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1 at Maple Hill Golf Club, 1539 Conrad Road, Marathon, NY 13803.
The tournament is limited to 30 teams or 120 golfers who must be 2025-2026 Legion, Auxiliary or Sons of the American Legion members in good standing, Krumins noted.
Entry fee is $60 per golfer, which covers greens fees, golf carts, steak (cook your own), dinner & buffet, liquid refreshments, and prizes. Those wishing to stay overnight, motels/hotels are available in Cortland and Binghamton.
To register for the tournament, fill out the registration form and return with check by July 17 to Golf Chairman Ause Krumins, 3 Merwin Rd Apt 3, Valatie, NY 12184.
