WWII Vets Offered Free Flights to Visit Museum in New Orleans
The National WWII Museum and JetBlue, in association with The American Legion, are offering veterans of the Second World War free roundtrip flights from New York or Boston to and from New Orleans for a limited time. World War II veterans who take advantage of the offer will also receive free admission to the museum. Accompanying friends or family members may also qualify for free roundtrip tickets on JetBlue and discounted admission prices at the museum. Participating airports are New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Boston’s Logan International Airport.

American Legion Honors 3 Troopers as Heroes
The American Legion honored three New York State troopers with heroism awards March 9 during Department Commander Frank Peters’ official visitation to Columbia County.
Peters and Columbia County American Legion Commander William Hogan presented American Legion Gold Medals for Heroism to State Police Sgt. Paul E. Strobel and Trooper Matthew Colwell, and then awarded the American Legion Medal of Valor to Trooper David G. Rose.

Legion Declares PTSD Oxygen Therapy As No. 1 Legislative Priority
State American Legion Legislative Chairman Harvey McCagg looked out on the room full of legionnaires and Legion Family members and declared:
“Our number one legislative priority” for New York State is “to establish and fund” a hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) program to treat post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and mild traumatic brain injury (TBI).
