Historians Elect Leaders at Mid-Winter Conference
ALBANY — James Randle of Williston Park Post 144 in Nassau County is the new president of the New York American Legion Historians Association. The New Hyde Park resident was elected during the Historians meeting Friday evening at the Mid-Winter Conference, being held Jan. 23-25 at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center.

Legionnaires Spot Cookies As Mid-Winter Conference Opens
ALBANY — Many of the legionnaires participating in the opening day of the Mid-Winter Conference were drawn to the cookie table set up by community health educator Julianna Tobak. She selected cookies to attract attention, she said, because, with “people going in and out of meetings, I wanted something to refuel the soul.”

Jobs, Suicide, PTSD Among Top Issues at Mid-Winter Conference
ALBANY — Jobs, suicide prevention and other veterans’ issues will be on the minds of nearly 1,200 American Legion members as they gather Jan. 23-25 for the New York State American Legion’s 96th Annual Mid-Winter Conference at The Desmond Hotel and Conference Center here. Another 700 members of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of the American Legion also will be addressing veteran and family issues as they hold concurrent meetings at nearby hotels on Wolf Road.
