    Honor Trip Gets Send-Off from Corning Legion

    CORNING — Some 22 World War II and Korean War veterans gathered at John P. Eaton American Legion Post 746 here early Saturday morning before taking an honor trip to Washington, D.C., the Corning Leader reported.

    Before the bus left, a ceremony included introductions and proclamations by Corning Mayor Rich Negri and U.S. Rep. Tom Reed.

    The trip included veterans, guardians and volunteers from Corning, Big Flats, Elmira, Odessa and Lawrenceville, Pa., the newspaper reported. The bus was escorted from the American Legion parking lot to the Pennsylvania border by the Motorcycle Patriot Guards.
